SMC #3 - The Doom Plot

*Kendrick accompanies the Spider-Men to the hidden SHIELD facility. They enter the coffee shop and watched as an agent, locked the door behind them. The blinds roll down and the floor opens up, revealing a secret elevator. They take the elevator right down down a huge underground chamber where equipment of all sorts is stored in sections.*

Peter:

Okay let's get started. Kendrick, will you come with us back to the helicarrier? I think Fury will need to hear your story.

Kendrick:

Usually I'd say no and that it would be a time waster, but in this case we don't have an option. Sure I'll go with you.

Peter:

Good. Okay, Ben, Miguel, you search around for the relay antenna. Miles, Sonny, you two are on computer detail.

Miguel:

Look at all this junk! This place reminds me of a Walmart. 

Sonny:

Hey, I found the computer. 

Miles:

Throw it onto my web parachute.

Sonny:

Don't be silly, it will break!

Miles:

No it won't, trust me!

Kendrick:

I wish we would hurry it up. We're losing precious time and this means Doom gains further distance.

Peter:

You're beginning to sound like Blade.

Kendrick:

You have no idea at the severity of this situation.

Peter:

You know what pal, I probably don't but we can't move any faster okay? Just chill. 

Kendrick:

I'm sorry. It's just...My home...It's...

Peter:

It's okay I understand. Just how bad did Doom ruin your world? How much of it did he terrorform?

Kendrick:

Not much. Fortunately, my home was spared, but Parts of Europe, Asia and Australia were transformed. He had his sights set on my New York, but he knew I wasn't going to let that happen. It happened all so fast.

Peter:

Anything you can remember can help us. He's most probably damaging another world right now.

Kendrick:

I'm not so sure. He should spending his time jumping from one portal to another. Unlike the direct doorways on the helicarrier, his illegal device finds longer routes. It'll slow him down.

Peter:

Which will give us the advantage.

Kendrick:

Exactly. Plus if I observed his behavior correctly, he only picks worlds that are suitable to sustain his vision of Latveria.

Peter:

So he's world shopping. God only knows where he could strike next.

Sonny:

Okay we have the computer.

Miguel:

And we found the relay. Was there anything else?

Peter:

No there wasn't. Come on, let's get back to Fury.

*At the helicarrier, Kendrick explained his story to Fury while the Spider-Men fixed the equipment and got it running.*

 

Nick Fury:

Dimension jumping? How could he possibly do that? We have the only official door ways and they're currently in operative.

 

Kendrick:

Doom knows that. Your computer can track and identify illiegal doorways that can ruin the flow of time. In order to jump dimensions, Doom had to make sure that you couldn't track him.

 

Nick Fury:

Just how did he manage to make such a device?

 

Kendrick:

Doom had learnt the ways of dimension jumping and terrorforming when he was imprisoned at a jail in a dimension far away. It's a place that was classified and that SHIELD was not allowed to connect a door way too.

 

Nick Fury:

I know. Area 511

 

Peter:

Really? That's what they called it?

 

Nick Fury:

It's in no way a copy of Area 51, Parker.

 

Kendrick:

But it is twice as dangerous and twice as top secret. Doom spent his time, learning the structual layout of the prison. he built a portal and a terrorforming device with equipment that was smuggled into the prison by corrupt gaurds he had on his pay roll. He has been on the run ever since and Latveria is on his mind.

 

Peter:

Latveria is all that he cares about isn't it?

 

Kendrick:

Peter you should know him better than the rest of us. You face him when you were 15 years old.

 

Peter:

Yeah and I messed my webs while I was fighting him too.

 

Kendrick:

Look, there's only one way we're going to find him.

 

Miguel:

*Approaches* The computer's up an running. Let's track this S.O.B!

 

*They crowd around the tracking computer in the Portal room and instantly pick up on Doom's trace signal.*

 

Nick Fury:

There he is. The computer picked up a signal trace. His device rocked all the security protocols.

 

Miles:

So where is he exactly?

 

Nick Fury:

Earth-621. Wait a second! THAT'S THE DYNAMIC UNIVERSE!

 

Peter:

He's found his Latveria! We got to stop him!

 

Kendrick:

No! If we enter the world while it's in the process of terror forming, we could be killed! All matter would change and we would cease to be.

 

Peter:

Then what do you suggest we do?

 

Kendrick:

We wait. I have a feeling that he's expecting us. We should let him think he's won first then enter.

 

Peter:

How will we know?

 

Kendrick:

Trust me. We'll know.

 

Nick Fury:

You guys better get ready.
