KNIGHT OF THE FALCONS
PART SIX


*The uncomfortable return journey eventually ends when Dallas returns to the air strip. They park the truck up against the first XK-8 and proceed to unload their stolen cargo. As he get's out of the cab, he stops to tune into the deadly quiet that Nevada has to offer. His eyes widen when his ears pick out the distinct screaming sound of KITT's engines.*

Dallas:
*Muttering* He's coming back. He's coming back! *grabs a machine gun and cocks it.* 

*Suddenly, KITT appears through the dry desert heatwaves, covered in dust which he has collected from the road. Michael sits behind the will. His eyes narrow when he spots Dallas.*

Michael:
KITT, I want you to round up the rest of those guys. I'll handle Dallas.

KITT:
My pleasure.

Michael:
Janice I want you to stay with KITT. 

Janice:
Michael *kisses Michael quickly* Be careful.

*Dallas makes a slow walk out onto the strip. Michael exits the car and advances towards him. He plants a punch to Dallas's stomach, forcing him to drop the gun. Dallas counters his second punch, grabbing his arm throwing him to the ground. Dallas leaps onto Michael and throws repeated punches into his face in an attempt to subdue him. Michael rolls in the dust and pushes Dallas off of him with his legs. He quickly jumps to his feet and smacks Dallas right in the jaw, Knocking him out. As for the other men, they head for the main hangar when KITT speeds up and over takes them. He skids and swings round, pinning them up against the wall.*

KITT:
I should have been a sheep dog. *Makes Janice chuckle* Michael are you alright?

Michael:
Never better. *Panting as he picks Dallas up by the scruff of the neck.* As for you, your little fantasy is over.

*Janice leaves KITT and runs over to Michael. He catches her and holds her in his arms.*

Michael:
We did it Janice *Smiles as he holds her.* We did it.

*****

*The next day, Michael and KITT arrive back in town to drop Janice off at her hotel room. It had been one joyous trip home with nothing but the wind on the backs, and the sounds of relaxing driving music on KITT's radio.*

Janice:
I really don't know how I can thank you after all of this. I know if Joel was here he would reward you with something.

Michael:
Trust me, you don't have to thank me. Besides I think a cold beer and some sleep would be a suitable reward for the both of us. 

Janice:
*Smiles* So what happens now?

Michael:
Well, The state police will return the XK-8's to their rightful place including the one that was taken from San Francisco. As for Dallas, well I'm assuming he'll be under close psychiatric treatments again before the judge sentences him. 

Janice:
So much for his big Korean meet and to think that we were so close to the start of a national security crisis. 

Michael:
Yeah well it wasn't your job in the first place to worry about that sort of thing. *displays a sly smile* I take it that you'll stick to blueprints now?

Janice:
Yes I think I will. *Leans in  and kisses Michael passionately* Goodbye Michael. *exits KITT.*

Michael:
I'll see you around. 

*After saying their goodbyes, Michael and KITT return to the empty road. They were heading home to California.*

KITT:
I suppose I'm your sheep dog now?

Michael:
What's that KITT?

KITT:
"KITT round up those men?" Really Michael, how demeaning. I'm a state of the art super car not a Farmer's dog.

Michael:
KITT, Do you always find one negative thing to say after a job? I think Bonnie's made you too sentient.

KITT:
On the contrary, I think Bonnie has done a great job, taking care of me. 

Michael:
Then why do you get so touchy?

KITT:
Michael.

Michael:
Yes KITT?

KITT:
Shut up.

*Michael, laughs as they drive off deep into the state of Nevada. Over the next few minutes, they disappear over the horizon, ready to face another adventure.*
