Before Catastrophe!


*High above the city, on board the S.H.I.E.L.D Helicarrier, Director Steve Rogers and Alex Murphy are in the ammunitions bay as Murphy is fitted with new technology.*

Steve:
Here you go. Welcome to the big leagues, Murphy. How does it feel to be with S.H.I.E.L.D?

RoboCop:
It feels...different.

Steve:
Well it will at first, but soon you'll be like us. People will depend on you and will look up to you here. It's not like Delta City. However in order for you to keep up with the crime rates and threats here, we've had to make some considerable improvements to your armour and weaponry. Tony spent weeks developing this flight pack for you. *switches on the light, revealing a small weight jet pack.* It can travel at short range distances but can also activate a homing device to your new S.H.I.E.L.D spinner.

RoboCop:
Impressive *walks over and picks up a twin barrel machine rifle* 

Steve:
I'm glad you approve. That's your new twin multi barrel machine rifle. It'S an enhanced version of the weaponry used on the War Machine armour. It attaches onto an inbuilt compartment on your back plate armour. Should you need it, you can automatically call for it via a homing device in your helmet. 

RoboCop:
Understood. 

Steve:
You know something, I was wrong about you. I really stood your ground when you saved Natasha the other month. You would have made a fine Avenger.

RoboCop:
Things happen for a reason.

Steve:
Indeed.

*Suddenly the deck vibrates and the red alert alarms ring about the decks. Steve and Robo head for the main control room where his staff rush around about their stations.*

Steve:
Tony what the hell is going on?

Tony:
You tell me? We've just had reports of multiple explosions coming from across the city. All emergency services are dealing with multiple injuries. Apparently a Cop reported seeing a winged creature with claws and bright red eyes.

Steve:
Could it be anyone on our villains database?

Tony:
None that we know of. Want us to check it out?

Steve:
Yes, assemble the team. What a confirmation.

*Suddenly, the Helicarrier shook again. This time, a plume of black smoke rose up above the cloud layer.*

Steve:
Where was that explosion!?

S.H.I.E.L.D Operative:
Sir, that explosion came from the docks. There are reports of winged creatures attacking a freight ship.

Steve:
That's it we're going to take a look. Avengers Assemble! RoboCop, you go with them! I also want S.H.I.E.L.D ground crews down there too.

*A few minutes pass when two Quin-Jets disembark for the city. Steve observes the commotion below from the observation platform when he receives further reports.

Maria Hill:
*Rushes towards him* Sir, we received reports that a nuclear power station has just shut down. The whole east side has lost power and people are panicking in the streets! 

Steve:
Winged creatures. I haven't encountered anything with described as creatures? The Goblins don't have claws and don't spit fire. I'm going down there!

Maria Hill:
Sir with all due respect, your needed here to manage operations. I'll go down with a team of my own and investigate the power station.

Steve:
Okay, but have Giant Man and Spider Woman go with you. I don't want you going there unprotected. 

Maria Hill:
Steve, I'll be fine. Coulson's already down there. He left with Tony.

Steve:
*Just stares*

Maria Hill:
Okay. I'll report in every 15 minutes.

Steve:
Okay. Be careful out there.

*As Maria leaves for the hangar bay, Steve returns to scene. This is his first big deal since becoming Director. He wonders, what would Nick Fury do?*
