Chapter 5 - Menace Unleashed!
*Menace growls as he throws Spider-Man about the place. The wall crawler is hurled into vehicles, buildings and street lamps, bring nothing but destruction in his way.*
Menace:
That is just a taste of our power.
Spider-Man:
You know something? I believe you there, stinky. You clearly are more menacing than your parents. *Thinks* And stronger too. This guy has the combined powers of both Venom and Carnage. How could I even hope to take him down!?
Menace:
*Stops moving and begins to stagger* We need food. We're too weak to make a move just yet... What?...Why don't we feed off of him? Yes we can eat the one in the stupid mask.
Spider-Man:
Hey I'm not a Turkey joint on legs okay? Besides I'm very grisly.
Menace:
*lets out a thunderous laugh as he lashes his tentacles at Spider-Man* Come here little dinner. Come here.
Spider-Man:
Well at least you'd called me dinner. Being called supper would've been insulting and hurtful.
*Spider-Man dodges the attacks but is then thrown into a building. He skids and lands in a heap, kicking up a dust cloud. Menace's silhouette appears amongst the dust.*
Spider-Man:
*Coughing* Okay new plan. Just hear me out. You don't eat me, call off this war and we'll both grab a McDonalds. My treat.
*Menace then throws projectile shards at Spider-Man but misses him.*
Spider-Man:
*barrels upwards* So that's a no then.
Menace:
Come here. Feed us!
Spider-Man:
No....No Way...Nuh Uh....Hell No. *Web swings away*
*****
*Meanwhile, Iron Man and The Human Torch rendezvous above the city as they begin to search for Spider-Man*
Human Torch:
There you are. Where the hell was you?
Iron Man:
Taking a Whiz.
Human Torch:
Too much information.
Iron Man:
You asked.
Human Torch:
Wow...Okay? Well it's the first time in like years since we've last worked together so where do we start?
Iron Man:
Usually I prefer an aerial sweep of the city. That method usually works.
Human Torch:
Okay then what do you do if you can't?
Iron Man:
Then I put his picture up with the heading "If found please return to." No just kidding with you. I have tech stuff in my helmet that will find him.
Human Torch:
Good. Lead the way...and don't even joke about that stuff.
*Iron Man and Torch scout the city in repeated sweep patterns but cant find any sign of Spider-Man until...*
Human Torch:
*hears an explosion* Did you hear that?
Iron Man:
*Also hears explosion* I did. It's coming from 5th street.
Human Torch:
I would say lets go but we've got them to deal with first.
Iron Man:
Who's them?
*They then see a small group of flying Symbiotes heading straight towards them*
Iron Man:
Really? they can fly now? Who did they mate with? Falcon?
Human Torch:
*Blasting the Symbiotes with his flame blasts* Does everything have to be a sexual innuendo with you?
Iron Man:
*Attacks the symbiote's with disruptor bursts* I have a dirty sense of humour yes.
*They cut through the hordes of Symbiotes and return to the 5th street explosion. As they fly down they see Spider-Man being thrown through buildings and cars by the Menace Symbiote*
Spider-Man:
Can't.....I at least......offer you.....a breath mint?
Menace:
DIE!
Spider-Man:
Whoo boy.
Iron Man:
Get off him! *fires a disruptor beam at Menace* Parker get out of there!
Spider-Man:
Hell I'm not going to argue with that. *Web swings to safety as Iron Man keeps Menace down with the disruptor beam.* Boy aren't I glad to see you both.
Human Torch:
Who is that? Where's Venom and Carnage?
Spider-Man:
THAT'S! Venom and Carnage together.
Human Torch:
Oh my god, they merged?
Spider-Man:
Yeah and I couldn't stop it like Madame Web asked me too. I guess it was fate.
Human Torch:
So now what do they call themselves?
Spider-Man:
Menace.
Iron Man:
*To Menace as he screams in pain* Stay down! *turns to Spider-Man* How did they merge together?
Spider-Man:
Venom actually dived into Carnage.
Iron Man:
Ouch.
Spider-Man:
I know right. So now what?
Iron Man:
My disruptor ray can hold him down but not for long. He's going to get up soon and run off.
Spider-Man:
How do we kill him?
Human Torch:
We can't kill him, Eddie Brock's in there.
Spider-Man:
No he's not. There's no way he could've survived that merging. Neither would Cletus Kasady. They died and all that's left now is this.
*Suddenly, Menace begins to break free of the disruptor beam and crawls away. Iron Man tries to tackle him but is knocked away by Menace's tentacles.*
Spider-Man:
Are you okay?
Iron Man:
*pulls himself up* I'm fine but we've got to get him.
Spider-Man:
Quick after him!
*The three of them chase after Menace as they scale buildings and rush down streets. Menace appeared to be more agile and faster than Venom and Carnage put together.*
Spider-Man:
How the hell are we going to cut him off?
Iron Man:
Wait a second! Is it me or is he beginning to slow down?
Spider-Man:
He's right. Menace is beginning to slow down. He hasn't fed yet. Perhaps if we can keep him away from his source of food, he'll weaken to the point that he'll die from another disruptor blast. *To Iron Man* We need to keep him away from eating someone.
Iron Man:
What?
Spider-Man:
Just trust me. Hey Torch. Try and divert him towards Central Park.
Human Torch:
Got it.
*The Torch fires flame arcs and blasts at Menace, deliberately missing him at close range. After a few shots, the plan works and Menace staggers towards the park*
Spider-Man:
You did it. Now watch him drop.
*Suddenly, Menace begins to fall as he squeals in pain.*
Menace:
Heeelllppp! Usss Our Children!
*The three look as a horde of Symbiotes en-circle them*
Spider-Man:
Uh -Oh Now what?
Human Torch:
I had a feeling it was too good to be true.
Menace:
Our younglings will see to it that you will never....leeaavee this park....alive!
Spider-Man:
Okay we'll need a plan here.
Iron Man:
There's only one way we can do this now and if it goes wrong then we're finished.
